Development & Communications Coordinator

Job Title:  Development & Communications Coordinator

Reports to Title:  Assistant Director of Connect Casino Road (CCR) 
Date: January 2023 

FLSA Status: Salaried, non-Exempt

Class: Part-time, 20 hours/week Salary: $35,000  
Benefits: $500 monthly healthcare stipend, up to 5% retirement match, 10 paid holidays, and PTO accrual based on work experience.  


The Development & Communications Coordinator reports to the Assistant Director of Connect Casino Road. The Development & Communications Coordinator develops & maintains relationships with existing and potential donors, facilitates fundraising events throughout the year, leads the organization’s external communications efforts, and assists with grant tracking & reporting. 


Fundraising & Community Engagement

  • Help identify and recruit additional cross-sector donors to participate in CCR’s work.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing donors; seek out new donors based on needs/priorities of CCR collaborative.

  • Build deep relationships with and understand cross-sector (education, social service, business, civic, etc.) partners across the greater Casino Road area.

  • Effectively communicate CCR’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors.

  • Plan and manage logistics of community fundraising events throughout the year.

  • Maintain records of sponsors for annual outreach efforts.

  • Work closely with the finance team to maintain donor data and ensure donor acknowledgment.

  • Organize campaigns that will lead to donations.

  • Train volunteers to support outreach efforts.

Marketing & Communications 

  • Lead the development of CCR’s e-blast and social media strategy and implementation.

  • Create flyers for community events.

  • Work with Assistant Director to create the organization’s annual report and other external communications, such as quarterly newsletters.

Grant Management and Development 

  • Oversees the administration of grant funds that includes collaborating with CCR’s teams to develop recommendations for fund usage.

  • Identifies and prepares grant applications and funding proposals for review by Assistant Director of CCR.

  • Assist in grant reporting.

  • Agency employees and management at all levels

  • Community partners and funders at all levels throughout the county


  • Experience with fundraising, donor relations, and marketing.

  • Experience working in an immigrant community preferred.

  • Lived experience as an immigrant and/or person of color preferred.

  • Experience working in other collaborative/collective impact initiatives is preferred.

  • Bi-lingual skills in English and Spanish preferred.


  • Knowledge of race equity frameworks, two-generation approaches, and ACEs/Trauma-informed Care preferred.

  • Demonstrable commitment to social justice.

  • Demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines from internal and external entities.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality around budgets and information from partners that has not been made public, and sensitive information pertaining to donors and funders.

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written abilities.

  • Strong computer skills and experience with MS Office.

  • Experience and comfort around diverse communities and cultures and connecting members of the public to appropriate resources.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with donors, funders, employees, partners, and members of the community.


To successfully perform the essential duties of this position, an individual must be able to sit at a desk for four or more hours a day, and use office equipment, including phones and computer keyboards, for four or more hours per day. Individuals must be able to engage clients over the phone and in-person by voice. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job. K-12 Contract Tutor at The Village on Casino Road

Contractor will provide Connect Casino Road (Client) with tutoring services for students in kindergarten to 12th grade with a primary focus on math.  

Contract Term: March 1, 2023-December 31, 2023.


Terms and Conditions 
The following rates and terms apply:

Client will pay $30.00 per hour, for 1 - 2 hours per week, for a total compensation of up to $3,000 for the term of this contract.

Payments will be sent to the Contractor via mailed check, no later than the 7th of each month, for work delivered and accepted in the previous month.  


Scope of Project 
Contractor is providing tutoring for Client, as outlined below. Contractor agrees to perform services until the engagement has ended. 

  • Assist students with homework, projects, and other academic tasks with a primary focus on math.

  • Assist students via individualized and/or group tutoring.

  • Demonstrate academic best practices such as study tools or problem-solving for specific subjects and assignments.

  • Provide students positive as well as constructive feedback.

  • Provide feedback on progress to students’ caregivers as needed and where appropriate.

  • Create a positive relationship with students, ensuring they feel seen, heard, and respected.

  • Model mistake making, problem-solving, self-awareness, and social awareness.

Being bilingual in Spanish a plus but not required.

Changes and Revisions 
This agreement may be changed or revised as agreed upon between the Client and Contractor.


Background Check & Drug Free Workplace Policy 
Contractor will agree to a background check to be completed by Connect Casino Road. Contactor will agree to be drug & alcohol free while on assignment.
